3. Never have unexplained expectations

Unexplained expectations only leads to disappointment.
Don't expect others to read your mind...or between the lines.
Tell it like it is. Speak up.

For example, the newly married husband followed his dad's example. On Valentines Day he provided beautiful fresh flowers for his new wife. But the new husband could not figure out why his wife was not happy--in fact she was disappointed.

"What? You think I'm fat! Is that why you didn't get me chocolate?" the new wife asked between sobs.

"What are you talking about?" said a disillusioned new husband. He was just trying to show the same love his dad showed for his mother, What a surprise to learn that his new wife's father always gave chocolate candy for Valentines Day and that is what his new wife expected.

Good grief....all about unexplained expectations.

If you are ever disappointed, look back and see what expectation you had that was not explained. Likewise, if your spouse is disappointed, ask him or her to share what the expectation are...and for heavens sake, TALK about it! (No silent treatments!)
