Lea Language

What is "language?" What is "Lea Language?"
Why is it important to understand the communications both verbal and nonverbal?
Well....when we are all in the same small space, it is critical we understand what our communication actually "means!" Believe me...it isn't always the words....but what is the meaning behind the actual words? Or sigh, or glance, or chuckle?

Jamie (by way of Garth) is going to write the Lea Language so we can all understand one another.
Now....who will interpret the rest of the languages? (Lyman, Wells, Woodmansee, Braithwaites, and Hewitt Languages?) Oh, my....our world of communication is expanding exponentially!!

i will start working on a "lea language dictionary" (Jaime Lynne is going to have to edit for spelling)

entry 1:
"Competition"

Definition: Joy hosting a get together that will bring the family closer together without hurting anyone's feelings. The "competition" is an activity that allows everyone to demonstrate their own talents by participating in a random activity that involves very little life saving skills; such as pumpkin carving competition.

entry 1.2:
"Winner" (in the above Competitions)

definition: to be a winner in said competitions one must display their meaningless skills in a unique way that can be identified in such person.

winner example: attending the contest and providing the pumpkins (Dad)

winner example: using the most powertools on one pumpkin. (Jimmy)

winner example: successfully using the most complicated/intricate pumpkin carving pattern from the "pumpkin carving for experts book" (Shauna)

winner example: creating a pumpkin with the exact same face as the person carving their own pumpkin (Cassidy)

winner example: creating the best display & photo opp. for the after math of the pumpkins (Jaime Lynne)

winner example: creating a slide show of the entire competition to display at a later time (Jamie B)

winner example: setting up background music to set the mood of the competition. (Garth)

Love this and a big thanks to Jamie for helping me speak this language.

My understanding of a Lea competition is that everybody plays and everybody wins. That simple. :)

Winner: We're all winners.

Roast: I'm going to throw whatever meat I have in a pot with whatever else and call it a roast and it will be delicious. But BYOG - Bring your own gravy. :) (This same philosophy applies to casseroles.) And I am so grateful my mil has taught my husband this. It takes a lot of pressure off me in the kitchen.

How would Lea language define "fun?"

Fun...what is fun to one is not fun to all. But I love the competition winner explanation! Yes! I think that winner explanation is what makes the competition fun! Everyone expressing themselves in their own style. I'm really thinking about the bowling shirt cat walk debut for the famLea's first bowling shirt clothing design competition that we are planning between Christmas and New Years. And the winners are..... (can't wait to read Jaime's editorial after the competition!)
