My Trials vs Yours!

My trials are exactly for me or so Thora Larson told me when we were living in the same neighborhood on Alcoa Avenue in the early 1970s. She came to Vegas as a young mother of five from the farm in Idaho. Her husband fixed AC units and when working on the church on West Charleson, fell off and died leaving the five children from about 4 to 16 years old in the charge of his wife, Thora. She had never worked outside the home. I wondered how she could handle this huge challenge in her life. She said, "Joy, if we all went down to the church, put all our troubles in a pile on the gym floor and walked around to pick up someone's trials, we would all end up picking up our own pile of trials." The scriptures tell us Heavenly Father won't allow us to be given more challenge than we can handle. We are have talents and strengths---and our trials will be for our good. Look for the lesson you can learn from your trials. What lesson have you learned in your life's challenges?

Thanks for this mom. It has been engraved on my soul and I am always thankful for my own trials.

I remember Thora--she was such a wonderful old 12th warder! It seems like that ward was full of inspiring people . . . like you!

This is Heidi from Wilmington Way, if you are wondering!
